Your donation to CUFSAA General Fund helps us tremendously and will be used to support projects of high importance.

In addition to donating to the general fund, you may earmark your donation to a specific fund/project as well, please choose an on-going project from the following list.

  • 01. CUFSAA General Fund

The CUFSAA General Fund is to accept donations for ALL funding activities of CUFSAA. If you would like to donate to a special project through the general fund, please add the project name on the Memo line of your check or include as “Add special instructions to the seller:” line during the Paypal donation process.

Synthetic Chemistry Lab Proposal

Chemistry Department plans to set up a Synthetic Chemistry and Drug Discovery Laboratory and CUFSAA-NA plans to fund the phase of the project that covers the basic lab infrastructure consisting of fume hoods, chemical resistant benches, Schlenk line, solvent purification system, rotary evaporators, balances, ovens, hotplates, stirrers, and other general lab equipment.

Physics Equipment Donation

After receiving a request from the Head of the Department of Physics through the Dean, Science Faculty, CUFSAA decided to accept the request to donate physics equipment. Please visit the Physics Equipment Donation page for additional information.

Prof. MLT Kannangara Memorial Scholarships

CUFSAA Executive Committee officially approved the proposal to establish two Scholarships to be given to Physics Special students each year (a third-year scholarship and the continuation of the third-year scholarship during the fourth year). These scholarships will honor Prof. M L T Kannangara, a former head of the department of Physics at the University of Colombo (UoC) who was an excellent instructor and who was also instrumental in establishing the UoC-Uppsala joint research project among various other services to the Physics program at UoC.

Launch Pad – Student Grant Program

CUFSAA launched the “Launch Pad” student grant program to help science faculty students who are navigating grave economic hardships as they complete their studies.
Grants are annual, and each is worth US $ 360.
Thirty-six grants will be given yearly to the Faculty of Science’s most needy special degree students.
A committee of Faculty of Science Faculty Members representing all academic departments will select the students using criteria agreed by all departments.
You can either sponsor a specific number of grants or contribute to the grant fund.
Contributions can be made for various dedications (in memory of loved ones, to students following a specific special degree, or as a gesture from a certain alumni class (Say, class of 1979), and CUFSAA will make every attempt to recognize such dedications.

CUFSAA has committed to providing grants for three years to the Faculty of Science, and the first session of the Launch Pad program will start in June 2024.

The following funds are to directly support Science Faculty at times of Emergency Situations and to specific Science Faculty Projects. Benevolent Fund

When we received notification of U of C science students affected by recent floods/landslides from the Dean of UofC, we established the “Benevolent Fund,” to support the urgent needs of science faculty students and staff affected by the floods. This fund is now available for the support of emergency needs of faculty staff, and students, in coordination with the Dean of the Science Faculty of the University of Colombo.
